Thinking About Visiting?

Visiting a church can be intimidating. But don't worry, keep reading to see what you can expect when visiting Nickel City Church.

Church doesn't have to be boring. We like to have fun, eat good food, and enjoy each others’ company.

When you visit us on a Sunday, you can expect to feel welcomed. We believe in hospitality, and hope you’ll feel comfortable from the moment you pull up. We have parking for cars in front of our building as well as the buildings immediately next to us. Street parking is also available for you along Hamilton Blvd. When the weather is nice, a bike rack is placed near the front for those who choose to bike. No matter which way you arrive, we have 3 entrances to choose from once you get here: our two main doors in the front, the first door along the side of our building on Hamilton (which leads into our main room), or the second door (which leads into our cafe).

Our cafe is completely free. When you first walk in you may be greeted warmly by friendly faces, and chances are they will introduce themselves and point you in that direction. We have hot coffee, tea, chilled beverages, and an assortment of breads and pastries. Anything you choose can be taken with you into the main room before, during, and after service. Our cafe is available by 10:30am. During that time we will have music playing and plenty of information available at our Welcome Table, so feel free to come a little early to get acquainted and comfortable!

If you have children, we have services available for them in the back. We have a Kids Check In station separating the cafe from our Kids’ rooms. Birth to age 4 gather in our “littles and middles” nursery and classroom (with baby activity centers, toys, and more) while children aged 5-12 are directed into our “bigs” room (which has a board game station and foosball table). Children MUST be checked in and given a name sticker for both themselves and their guardian by our kids check in host before entering. Anyone who enters our kids rooms are background checked or escorted by one of our volunteers.

In the main room, a five minute countdown will start projecting on the stage wall before service starts. Once it reaches zero, our worship service will begin. We typically sing 4 songs together on Sunday mornings, and like them to point us closer to who God is. Words will always be up on the screen and available for everyone.

After worship, announcements about upcoming weekly or monthly events are shared. This is an opportunity to learn a little more about what’s new at Nickel City and how to get plugged in.

Shortly after, the sermon begins. Pastor Eli is typically the one to share on Sunday mornings but occasionally we have a guest speaker. You can learn more about Eli and his family in our “Meet the Pastor” section.

Service as a whole typically lasts about an hour, with time to hang out afterwards. If you have any other inquiries, please feel free to call or email! We can’t wait to meet you.
